  20 <P><I>IBM AFS Administration Guide</I>
  21 <P>This guide describes the concepts and procedures that a system
  22 administrator must know to manage an AFS cell. It assumes familiarity
  23 with UNIX, but requires no previous knowledge of AFS.
  24 <P>The first chapters of the <I>IBM AFS Administration Guide</I> present
  25 basic concepts and guidelines. Understanding them is crucial to
  26 successful administration of an AFS cell. The remaining chapters in the
  27 guide provide step-by-step instructions for specific administrative tasks,
  28 along with discussions of the concepts important to that particular
  29 task.
  30 <P><I>IBM AFS Quick Beginnings</I>
  31 <P>This guide provides instructions for installing AFS server and client
  32 machines. It is assumed that the installer is an experienced UNIX<SUP>
  33 <SUP>(R)</SUP></SUP> system administrator.
  34 <P>For predictable performance, machines must be installed and configured in
  35 accordance with the instructions in this guide.
  36 <P><I>IBM AFS Release Notes</I>
  37 <P>This document provides information specific to each release of AFS, such as
  38 a list of new features and commands, a list of requirements and limitations,
  39 and instructions for upgrading server and client machines.
  40 <P><I>IBM AFS User Guide</I>
  41 <P>This guide presents the basic concepts and procedures necessary for using
  42 AFS effectively. It assumes that the reader has some experience with
  43 UNIX, but does not require familiarity with networking or AFS.
  44 <P>The guide explains how to perform basic functions, including
  45 authenticating, changing a password, protecting AFS data, creating groups, and
  46 troubleshooting. It provides illustrative examples for each function
  47 and describes some of the differences between the UNIX file system and
  48 AFS.
