  23 <P>Records privileged operations performed by the Authentication Server
  24 <P><STRONG>Description</STRONG>
  25 <P>The <B>AuthLog.dir</B> and <B>AuthLog.pag</B> files
  26 record a trace of privileged operations performed by the Authentication Server
  27 (<B>kaserver</B> process) on the local machine. If the files do not
  28 exist when the Authentication Server starts, it creates them in the
  29 <B>/usr/afs/logs</B> directory as necessary.
  30 <P>The files are in binary format. To display their contents, use the
  31 <B>kdb</B> command, which requires being logged in to the local machine as
  32 the local superuser <B>root</B>.
  33 <P><STRONG>Cautions</STRONG>
  34 <P>The Authentication Server is possibly unable to create these files on some
  35 operating systems that AFS otherwise supports, making the <B>kdb</B>
  36 command inoperative. See the <I>IBM AFS Release Notes</I> for
  37 details.
