  26 <P>Defines client interfaces not to register with the File Server
  27 <P><STRONG>Description</STRONG>
  28 <P>The <B>NetRestrict</B> file, if present in a client machine's
  29 <B>/usr/vice/etc</B> directory, defines the IP addresses of the interfaces
  30 that the local Cache Manager does not register with a File Server when first
  31 establishing a connection to it. For an explanation of how the File
  32 Server uses the registered interfaces, see the reference page for the client
  33 version of the <B>NetInfo</B> file.
  34 <P>As it initializes, the Cache Manager constructs a list of interfaces to
  35 register, from the <B>/usr/vice/etc/NetInfo</B> file if it exists, or from
  36 the list of interfaces configured with the operating system otherwise.
  37 The Cache Manager then removes from the list any addresses that appear in the
  38 <B>NetRestrict</B> file, if it exists. The Cache Manager records
  39 the resulting list in kernel memory.
  40 <P>The <B>NetRestrict</B> file is in ASCII format. One IP address
  41 appears on each line, in dotted decimal format. The order of the
  42 addresses is not significant. The value <B>255</B> is a wildcard
  43 that represents all possible addresses in that field. For example, the
  44 value <B>192.12.105.255</B> indicates that the Cache
  45 Manager does not register any of the addresses in the
  46 <B>192.12.105</B> subnet.
  47 <P>To display the addresses the Cache Manager is currently registering with
  48 File Servers, use the <B>fs getclientaddrs</B> command.
